Programs at the John Anson Ford Theatres nurture Los Angeles County-based artists, arts organizations, and audiences through programming initiatives designed to encourage participation in the arts.
Summer Series: From May to October, music, dance and film events that represent the rich cultural diversity of Los Angeles are presented in the 1200-seat outdoor Ford Amphitheatre. Events for this series are selected through a competitive application process. If you are interested in learning more about the Summer Partnership Program, click here.
Winter Series: The Ford’s 87-seat indoor theatre, [Inside] the Ford, is home to an award-winning play series that runs November through April. Similar to its summer counterpart, this series features theatre companies and plays selected through a competitive application process. Community Bridges Program: Since 2001, this program has encouraged and facilitated participation in the performing arts by artists, arts organizations and audiences from the Asian Pacific Islander and Latino communities of Los Angeles County.
Big!World!Fun! Family Series: Music and dance events that represent the diverse cultural landscape of Southern California are presented on Saturday mornings in July and August in the outdoor amphitheatre. Performances are appropriate for children ages 4 to 10 and their parents. Children are admitted free; adults pay $5.
J.A.M. (Jazzed and Motivated) Sessions: This free interactive series encourages Angelinos to release their inner artist by singing, dancing and playing music with the guidance of professional artists from the Ford summer season.
Community Outreach Partnership Program: In this free program, underserved youth and their families receive artist-led music, dance, or theater classes in community centers across Los Angeles. Transportation and tickets to Ford events are also provided.
